Wabi is a new AI assistant that works like a chat app: you tell it what you need, and it gets the task done, sometimes by building a small app inside the conversation. It is currently invite-only. Here is the official link, how to get in, and what it can and can't do, including the WhatsApp question.
What you need
The official website: wabi.ai. Downloads are on wabi.ai/download, which links to the iPhone App Store, Google Play for Android, and a Mac app for Apple Silicon.
An invite code. TechCrunch reported in September 2026 that Wabi 2.0 is invite-only, with codes being handed out on X (TechCrunch). Another report says you can join a waitlist through the iOS app (RuntimeWire).
A recent phone. The US App Store listing says the iPhone app needs iOS 26.0 or later (App Store).
Price: the app is listed as free on the App Store.
Step by step
Go to the official site. Open wabi.ai/download on your phone, or scan the QR code there from your laptop. Use the official links only. Search results show look-alike domains with similar names.
Install the app from the App Store or Google Play link on that page.
Sign up and enter your invite code when the app asks for it. If you don't have one, join the waitlist in the app and watch Wabi's posts on X, where codes have been shared.
Give it a real task. The App Store listing says Wabi can book appointments, manage returns, track refunds and plan meals, and build plans, trackers, maps, lists and games inside a chat. Try something like:
I want to lose 3 kg in the next 2 months. Build me a simple tracker where I can log my weight and daily meals, and remind me every evening at 9 pm to update it.Plan a 3-day Goa trip for 4 friends in December on a budget of ₹15,000 per person. Make a shared plan we can all edit in this chat, with a day-wise schedule and a split of costs.Use it with other people. Wabi calls itself "the AI assistant you use together". You can add family, friends or co-workers to a chat so everyone shares the same plan or tracker.
Control what it can access. The App Store listing says you choose which connections Wabi can use, it asks for approval before important actions, and you can disconnect anything later. Check these settings before you link any account.
What about replying to your WhatsApp messages? The reel says this assistant replies to your WhatsApp messages for you. Wabi's website, its App Store listing and news coverage of the launch don't mention WhatsApp or replying to messages on your behalf, so this isn't confirmed. Don't expect it out of the box. If WhatsApp replies are what you need, these official WhatsApp options exist:
WhatsApp Business app (free): set up a Greeting message and an Away message under Settings > Business tools, plus Quick Replies for answers you send often (ChakraHQ guide).
Writing Help in WhatsApp: an opt-in Meta AI feature that suggests rewrites of your draft in different tones when you tap the pencil icon. It launched in English in the US and some other countries first, so check whether it's available on your phone (WhatsApp Blog).
Good to know
Invite-only for now. There is no public date for wider access.
Check availability in India. The listings confirm iPhone, Android and Mac apps, but not which countries can sign up.
Privacy. On the App Store privacy label, Wabi, Inc. reports that it may use identifiers to track you across other companies' apps and websites, and that user content, identifiers and diagnostics are linked to you. Read the privacy policy before connecting email, calendar or other accounts.
Age rating 13+ on the App Store.
Who's behind it. Wabi was founded by Eugenia Kuyda, who earlier founded the AI companion app Replika (TechCrunch).
Stay in control of anything sent in your name. If you use any AI tool to draft replies to people, read each message before it goes out.
