No single AI is best at everything. Below is a short toolkit: one tool to start with for each task, a step-up option, and a prompt to try. These picks are our opinion, based on what each tool is built for, so test them on your own work.
What you need
Free accounts are enough to start for most of these. Paid plans give more usage and better models.
Links to each tool are in the toolkit below. Check the pricing pages, because plans change often.
Step by step: the toolkit
1. Writing
Start with: Claude. It is strong at long, natural-sounding writing and editing, and has a free plan.
Also good: ChatGPT, which has Free and Go plans.
Here are 3 things I've written: [paste]. Study my tone and sentence length. Then help me write a [LinkedIn post / email / blog] about [topic] in my own voice. Ask me 3 questions first.2. Research
Start with: Perplexity for quick web answers with source links you can click and check.
For your own documents: Gemini Notebook, the tool Google called NotebookLM until July 2026. Upload your PDFs, notes or links and it answers from those.
Research [topic] for an Indian reader. Give me 5 key facts, each with its source link, and tell me which facts are still disputed or out of date.3. Building apps and websites
Start with: Lovable. Describe the site or app in plain English and it builds it. You can start for free; each prompt uses credits.
For quick mini tools: Canva Code builds simple calculators, quizzes and games from a description.
Build a one-page website for [business, e.g. a home bakery in Jaipur]. Include a hero section, a menu with prices, customer FAQs, a WhatsApp order button, and a contact form. Mobile-first, warm colours.4. Content creation
Designs and posts: Canva, with its AI tools for images, docs and photo edits.
Voiceovers: ElevenLabs. The free plan gives 10,000 credits a month.
Editing Reels: Edits, Instagram's free video editing app.
Give me 10 Reel ideas for a [niche] page in India. For each: a 3-second hook, the main point in one line, and what to show on screen.5. Coding
Start with: Cursor, an AI code editor with a free plan.
Step up: Claude Code, an agent that works in your terminal, editor and browser. It needs a paid Claude plan or a Claude Console account. OpenAI Codex is the main alternative.
Explain what this project does, file by file, in simple English. Then list the 3 riskiest parts of the code and suggest one small, safe improvement for each. Don't change anything yet.6. Making money
No AI makes money on its own. What works is using these tools to offer a real service faster, with your own review on top. Three simple ideas:
Build websites for local shops with Lovable.
Run social media for small brands with Canva and Claude.
Make voiceovers or explainer videos with ElevenLabs and Edits.
I can offer [skill] using AI tools. Suggest 5 types of small businesses in [city] that would pay for it, a fair starting price in rupees, and a short, honest message I can send them. I'll review and personalise it before sending.Good to know
These rankings are opinions, not test results. The best tool depends on your task, language and budget.
Free plans have limits. Lovable and ElevenLabs use credits, and some features need a paid plan.
AI makes mistakes. Check facts, numbers and code before you publish or ship.
If you post AI-made voices, faces or realistic videos, label them as AI. Meta asks for this, and Indian rules now require big platforms to label synthetic content.
When you pitch clients, send personal messages to businesses that fit, not mass spam. Be honest that you use AI tools.
Don't paste client data, passwords or private documents into any tool without permission.
