Firecrawl Alexandria lets your AI assistant pull structured data from official providers instead of only reading web pages about them. This guide shows the setup in Claude and ChatGPT, and gives you one copy-paste prompt for each of the four jobs: market intel, due diligence, compliance research and lead lists.
What you need
A Firecrawl account. The Free plan gives 1,000 credits a month with no card needed. Paid plans start at $16 a month (billed yearly) for 5,000 credits. See Firecrawl pricing.
Claude or ChatGPT. Firecrawl has an official connector in Claude's connector directory and an official plugin for ChatGPT and Codex.
Credits for provider tools. Searching for an Alexandria tool and checking its price is free. You pay the tool's listed price only when it runs.
What Alexandria includes, per Firecrawl's own pages:
Official data providers. Firecrawl's Alexandria page listed 331 providers and over 2,000 capabilities in October 2026. Its launch release in September said 88 providers, so the catalogue is growing fast.
Firecrawl's own indexes: Research, Developer, and a Government & Legal Index.
Named providers include Fiscal.ai (company financials, ratios and earnings call transcripts), Particle (podcast transcripts with speaker labels), Apollo (person and company data, including work emails), SEC EDGAR, Companies House and the World Bank.
Step by step
Connect Firecrawl in Claude. Open the Firecrawl connector page and click Connect. Sign in to Firecrawl (or create a free account), choose a team, and approve access. No API key is needed. On Team or Enterprise Claude plans, an admin may need to allow the connector first.
Or connect it in ChatGPT. Add the official Firecrawl plugin from the link on Firecrawl's ChatGPT post, then connect your Firecrawl account when prompted.
Turn it on in your chat. In Claude, open the + menu, go to Connectors, and switch on Firecrawl. Mention Firecrawl in your prompt so the assistant uses it.
Accept provider terms if asked. Some providers need an organisation admin to accept their terms in the Firecrawl dashboard before they work.
Run the prompts below. Each one asks the assistant to show you the tool and price before running anything, so you don't spend credits by surprise.
Prompt 1: Market intel from podcasts
Use Firecrawl Alexandria. Find podcast episodes from the last 6 months where
people discuss [YOUR INDUSTRY, e.g. "D2C skincare in India"].
Before running any paid tool, tell me which provider and tool you plan to use
and its credit price, and wait for my OK.
Then give me:
1. The 5 most relevant episodes (show, episode title, date, link).
2. The top 5 recurring themes, each with a short quote and who said it.
3. Complaints or unmet needs that come up more than once.
Cite the source for every point. If you find nothing reliable, say so.Prompt 2: Due diligence brief before a call
Use Firecrawl. I have a call with [COMPANY NAME, website URL].
Build a one-page brief:
1. What they sell and who to, from their own website.
2. Financial filings or fundamentals if an Alexandria provider has them
(check Fiscal.ai, SEC EDGAR or Companies House as relevant).
3. Recent news from the last 90 days.
4. Three smart questions I should ask on the call.
Show the tool and credit price before any paid run. Link every source.
Clearly mark anything you could not find instead of guessing.Prompt 3: Compliance research from the actual text
Use Firecrawl, including the Government & Legal Index if it covers this.
Question: [e.g. "What rules apply to selling food supplements online in the UK?"]
1. Quote the relevant sections from the official law or regulation text,
with links to the official source.
2. Summarise what they mean in plain English.
3. List anything that seems to have changed recently.
If the index does not cover this country, search official government
websites instead and say so. This is research, not legal advice, so end
with the questions I should ask a lawyer.Prompt 4: A small, targeted prospect list
Use Firecrawl Alexandria. I sell [PRODUCT] to [TYPE OF COMPANY] in [REGION].
1. Suggest 10 companies that fit, with a one-line reason each.
2. For each, find 1 to 2 relevant decision makers (name, role, company)
using a provider such as Apollo.
3. Include a work email only if the provider returns one.
Show the provider and total credit cost before running, and wait for my OK.
Output a table I can paste into a spreadsheet.Good to know
The 21% figure is Firecrawl's own test. Across 845 tasks, using the same model and blind AI judging, agents with Alexandria scored 21% higher on answer quality than agents using built-in web tools. It is not an independent benchmark.
Coverage leans US, UK and global. Named sources include SEC EDGAR, Companies House and GOV.UK. Coverage of Indian filings or Indian law was not confirmed, so check results before you rely on them.
Leads come with rules. Use contact data for relevant, one-to-one outreach. Respect India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, GDPR for EU contacts, and anti-spam rules. Do not mass-email lists.
Check every answer. AI summaries of filings or laws can still be wrong. Open the linked source for anything important.
Credits add up. Paid provider calls cost more than a normal search, so keep the "show price first" line in your prompts.
