instagram-agent-skill is a free, open-source pack of 13 Claude skills for running an Instagram account. It writes reels, captions and carousels, plans your week, drafts comment replies and DMs, scores your profile, and studies what's working in your niche. Here is the full setup and the first prompts to run.
What you need
The repo: Jakeschincariol/instagram-agent-skill on GitHub. MIT licence, about 2.2k stars. No signup, no API key, nothing to connect.
Claude Code (best option). It needs a paid Claude plan.
Or Claude.ai with "Code execution and file creation" turned on in Settings > Capabilities. Skills work on all Claude plans, including Free.
Python 3 for the pack's small helper tools (hook scorer, caption checker and so on). They use no extra libraries and make no network calls.
Step by step
Install in Claude Code as a plugin. Run these inside Claude Code:

Install this skill, then confirm /ig-reel works.Or use it in Claude.ai. The README only documents Claude Code, so this route is less tested. Claude's help center lets you upload a custom skill as a ZIP: zip one skill folder (for example
ig-reel, which contains its SKILL.md), then go to Customize > Skills, click +, choose Create skill, then Upload a skill. Repeat for each skill you want. The README's fallback is to paste one SKILL.md into a chat, which runs that skill without its Python tools.Give it your voice. Copy

It writes, you post. The pack does not post to Instagram and does not use Instagram's publishing API. You copy and post yourself.
Virality is manual reading, not scraping.
/ig-viralreads public posts in your own browser, about ten accounts at a time, and never asks for your password. Keep it that way, and stay within Instagram's terms.Hook scores are a guide. The author tested the scorer on 74 YouTube Shorts hooks, not Instagram reels. It spotted weak hooks fairly well but could not reliably pick winners.
Platform rules change. The README's hashtag guidance (five per post) dates from December 2025. Check Instagram's current rules.
Third-party code. This pack is not made by Anthropic or Meta. Read the skill files before installing, as you would with any code from GitHub.
