This is the application guide from the reel. Anthropic expanded its Claude Startups program on 6 October 2026 with a free year of Claude Team, API credits and partner discounts. The most important update first: as of mid-October 2026, Anthropic's own program page says the current cohort is full and it is not accepting new applications. Here is what the program includes, who qualifies, and how to be ready for the next round.
What you need
An early-stage startup building with Claude. Coverage of the October 2026 expansion says startups founded in the last five years, or funded in the last two years, qualify. Venture funding is not required.
A Claude Console account (Anthropic's developer platform).
A company email on your website's domain. Gmail addresses won't match.
A short, concrete description of what you are building with Claude.
The official page: claude.com/programs/startups.
What the program offers
Per Anthropic's page and reporting on the 6 October expansion:
A free year of Claude Team for up to five Premium seats. Only for organisations that are new to Claude Team.
$1,000 in Claude API credits. They expire six months after they are granted and work only on Anthropic's own API through Claude Console, not on AWS Bedrock, Google Cloud Vertex AI or other platforms.
Claude Startup Stack: discounts and credits "worth up to $45,000" from partner companies. Reported examples include 12 months of ElevenLabs free with 33 million characters, $5,000 in ClickHouse Cloud credits, three months of Granola Business free, and a Firecrawl credit boost. These are third-party offers that Anthropic does not guarantee.
Applied AI office hours: group sessions with Anthropic's Applied AI team every other week.
Events: invitations to Claude startup events, hackathons and meetups.
VC partner credits: if your investor is in Anthropic's partner network, you may get up to $100,000 in extra API credits, claimed through the VC.
Entrepreneur India puts the Claude products and credits at up to $7,500 in value, while TechRadar reports up to $7,000. Anthropic's page doesn't state a figure, so treat both as estimates.
Step by step
Check the program page. Open claude.com/programs/startups and see whether applications are open. When this post was written, the page said: "Our current cohort is now full, and we're not accepting new applications right now."
Subscribe to the Claude Startup newsletter on that same page. Anthropic says this is how you hear when the next cohort opens.
If you have VC funding, ask your investor. The partner-VC credits are claimed through the VC, and coverage says this route doesn't depend on the cohort being open.
Get your paperwork ready now: a Claude Console account, a domain email, and your founding date or latest funding date.
Draft your "what we're building" answer. Keep it specific. Use this prompt in Claude to tighten it:
Help me write a 100-word description of my startup for the Claude
Startups application. Make it concrete: the problem, who it's for, what
we've built so far, and exactly how we use (or will use) Claude, e.g.
which product features call the API or which workflows use Claude Team.
No hype words, no claims I can't back up. Here are my notes:
[paste your notes]Apply when it reopens. Coverage of the launch says most applications were decided within minutes and the rest went to manual review, usually two to three business days. Members sign in at platform.claude.com/claude-for-startups to redeem offers.
Good to know
Applying doesn't guarantee approval, and right now applications are closed. Anthropic's FAQ also says some applications still in review when the cohort filled were not taken forward.
Credits expire. The $1,000 lasts six months from the grant, so don't apply until you are ready to build.
Country exclusions. Reporting names excluded regions such as Russia, China, Iran and Crimea. India isn't among those named, but read the official terms before you apply.
Partner offers can change. Each Startup Stack deal has its own provider terms, and the list may differ by the time you join.
Free Team only if you're new to Team. If your company already pays for Claude Team, that perk may not apply.
