Here is the face analysis prompt promised in the reel. Upload a selfie to Claude, paste the prompt, and you get a structured report on your features, what is working, and what you can actually change: hair, grooming, skincare habits, glasses, and how you take photos. There is also an optional score at the end, with an honest note on what that score is and isn't.
What you need
Claude on the web, desktop or phone app, with image upload.
One clear selfie. Face the camera straight on, in daylight from a window, no filter, neutral expression, hair off the forehead if possible. A second photo from the side helps.
Five minutes, and a mindset of "what can I try" rather than "what's wrong with me".
Step by step
Take the photo well. Phone at eye level, about an arm's length away. Very close selfies can distort proportions, so a slightly longer distance gives a fairer picture.
Open a new Claude chat and upload the photo.
Paste the main prompt:
I'm uploading a selfie. Please give me a grooming and style report based
only on what you can see in this photo. Be honest but kind, and focus on
things I can change.
Structure the report like this:
1. Photo quality: lighting, angle, lens distance and expression, and how
they might be changing how my face looks. Tell me if a better photo
is needed for a fair read.
2. Face shape and proportions: describe my face shape (oval, round,
square, heart, long, etc.) and notable features in neutral language.
Mention visible asymmetry only if it matters for a styling choice,
and remind me that small asymmetry is normal in every face.
3. Strengths: 3 to 5 features or qualities that work well, and how to
make the most of them.
4. Things I can change: specific suggestions for
- hairstyle and haircut that suit my face shape
- beard or facial hair (if relevant), or brows
- basic skincare habits (no medicines or procedures)
- glasses frame shapes that would suit me
- posture, expression and camera angles for photos
5. A simple 30-day plan with 5 small actions, in order of impact.
Rules:
- Do not guess my age, ethnicity, health or identity.
- Do not recommend surgery, injections, fillers, mewing claims, bone
smashing or any other unsafe or unproven method.
- If you see something that might need a doctor (like a skin issue),
just say "worth asking a dermatologist" without diagnosing.Ask for the score only if you really want it. Paste this as a follow-up:
Now give me a "presentation score" out of 10 for this photo only,
based on things I can change: grooming, hairstyle fit, skin care,
lighting, angle and expression. Explain each point you took off and
the single change that would raise it most. Do not score my bone
structure or features I was born with, and add a one-line reminder
that this is an opinion on one photo, not a measure of my worth.Claude may still choose to soften or decline a rating. That is normal. The report from step 3 is the useful part.
Retest after you change something. After a new haircut or a month of the plan, take a photo in the same light and position and ask:
Here is a new photo taken in the same light and angle as before.
Compare it to the earlier one and tell me what changed and what to
try next. Keep the same rules as before.Good to know
The score has no scientific basis. It is a language model's opinion on one photo, shaped by lighting and angle. A psychologist quoted by the Korea Times points out that a number makes a subjective judgment feel like objective science. It isn't. There is also no scientific evidence that "bone smashing" works, and it can cause serious injury.
Watch how it makes you feel. A psychiatry professor at the University of Colorado Anschutz has warned that AI face-rating tools may increase appearance anxiety, and that repeated looksmaxxing content can tie self-worth to looks. If checking your face starts to feel like a habit you can't stop, talk to someone you trust or a mental health professional. If you are under 18, skip the score entirely.
Privacy. A face photo is personal data. On Claude Free, Pro and Max, Anthropic keeps chats for five years if the model training setting is on, and 30 days if it is off. You can change this in Privacy Settings. Only upload your own face, never someone else's without their consent.
AI labels. If you post an edited or AI-generated "after" version of your face, platforms like Instagram require you to label AI content.
