This is the setup guide from the reel. Connectors (also called MCP servers) let Claude use outside tools. Below you get what each of the five does according to its own docs, the copy-paste setup for Claude Code, and the custom connector URL for Claude on the web or desktop where one exists.
What you need
Claude. A paid plan helps if you plan to use several connectors. For the terminal commands you need Claude Code.
Node.js 18 or newer for Playwright (it runs on your own computer).
Accounts with Perplexity (API), Firecrawl, PostHog and Composio. Each signs you in the first time you use it.
Step by step
1. Perplexity: live web research
What it does: four tools. perplexity_search (ranked web results), perplexity_ask (answers with live web context), perplexity_research (deeper, cited research) and perplexity_reason (step-by-step reasoning).
Claude web or desktop: add a custom connector with the URL
https://api.perplexity.ai/mcp.Claude Code: see the combined block in step 6.
Try it:
Use perplexity_research to find what changed in India's DPDP rules this
year. Give me 5 points with a source link for each.2. Firecrawl: read websites as clean text
What it does: searches, scrapes and parses web pages into text Claude can work with. Firecrawl also has a separate "branding" format that pulls a site's logo, colours and fonts, though its MCP docs don't confirm this is exposed through the connector.
Claude web or desktop: Firecrawl's docs link to its connector in the Claude directory, or use the sign-in URL
https://mcp.firecrawl.dev/v2/mcp-oauthas a custom connector. No API key needed for that route.
Try it:
Use Firecrawl to scrape the public pricing pages of these three tools:
[URL 1], [URL 2], [URL 3]. Make a table of plans, prices and limits.
Only use what is on the pages, and link each row to its source.3. PostHog: your product analytics and errors
What it does: lets Claude query your PostHog analytics (including SQL/HogQL), list top errors and pull stack traces, and create feature flags and experiments. It does not edit your website on its own. Its docs describe Claude suggesting code fixes, and making changes inside PostHog.
Fastest route: run
npx @posthog/wizard mcp addand it installs into Claude Code and Claude Desktop.
Try it:
Using PostHog, show me the top 5 errors from the last 7 days with how many
users each one hit. For the biggest one, pull the stack trace and suggest a
fix. Don't change anything, just explain.4. Playwright: Claude drives a real browser
What it does: opens a browser window on your computer and lets Claude click, type, fill forms, switch tabs, take screenshots and read the page. It uses the page's accessibility tree, not screenshots, so it needs no vision model. You can log in yourself in the window it opens.
Claude Desktop: add this to your config file:
{
"mcpServers": {
"playwright": {
"command": "npx",
"args": ["@playwright/mcp@latest"]
}
}
}Try it (say "playwright mcp" so Claude doesn't try another method):
Use the playwright mcp to open my site [URL], go through the signup form
with test data, and tell me any step that breaks or is confusing. Take a
screenshot of each step.5. Composio: one connector for many apps
What it does: one connector that gives Claude access to many apps (Gmail, Slack, Notion, GitHub and more). Composio's own pages quote both 500+ and 1,500+ integrations. You still authorise each app the first time Claude needs it.
Claude web or desktop: Customize > Connectors > + > Add custom connector, paste
https://connect.composio.dev/mcp, click Connect and authorise.
6. The one-shot setup for Claude Code
Paste these into your terminal, then start Claude Code and run /mcp to sign in to each one:
claude mcp add --transport http perplexity https://api.perplexity.ai/mcp
claude mcp add --transport http firecrawl https://mcp.firecrawl.dev/v2/mcp-oauth
claude mcp add --transport http posthog https://mcp.posthog.com/mcp -s user
claude mcp add playwright npx @playwright/mcp@latest
claude mcp add --scope user --transport http composio https://connect.composio.dev/mcp --header "x-consumer-api-key: YOUR_API_KEY"Swap YOUR_API_KEY for the key from your Composio dashboard.
Check they're all there:
claude mcp listIf one fails, the PostHog wizard (npx @posthog/wizard mcp add) and the Perplexity plugin route in its docs are good fallbacks.
Good to know
Costs vary. PostHog says connecting and calling tools is free, but some AI-powered tools count as PostHog AI spend. Perplexity's local server needs an API key from its API console, so check API pricing there. Firecrawl's keyless tier has daily limits. Composio says it is free to start but doesn't list limits on that page. Check each pricing page.
Scraping: respect the site. Only scrape public pages, follow robots.txt and the site's terms, and don't copy another brand's logos, text or design into your own work. Use scraped data for research, not to clone a site.
Permissions. Composio and PostHog get access to your real accounts. Give the least access you need, and on Team or Enterprise plans an admin must enable connectors first.
Playwright acts as you. Anything it clicks happens for real. Watch it on live accounts, and don't use it to mass-sign-up, spam or bypass site rules.
