Three AI video tools launched on Product Hunt in October 2026, and each one fixes a different problem. Rushilo lets you edit by chatting with an AI agent. Takes for Mac is built for recording talking-head videos. SupoClip turns long videos into short clips.
This post is the list from the carousel. For each tool you get what it does, what you need to run it and a quick way to test it on one of your own videos.
What you need
One real video you want to edit: a talking-head take, a screen recording or a long podcast or webinar.
For Rushilo or Takes: an AI agent on your own plan, such as Claude Code or Codex.
For Takes: a Mac with Apple silicon on macOS 15 or later.
About 30 minutes per tool for a fair test.
Step by step
1. Pick the tool for your bottleneck
Start with the step that slows you down most:
Long videos you never cut into shorts: try SupoClip.
Talking-head footage that takes hours to edit: try Takes for Mac.
You already use Claude Code or Codex and want to edit by typing instructions: try Rushilo.
2. Rushilo: edit video by talking to your AI agent
Rushilo is a video editor for Mac and Windows that your own AI agent drives. You connect Claude Code or Codex, select a clip and describe the edit: trim, split, captions, cutting filler words, resizing or exporting. Every change appears on a visible timeline that you can undo.
Also includes: screen recording with auto zoom on Mac, on-device Whisper captions and direct YouTube upload.
Price: $99 once, for up to three computers. Rushilo ships no AI of its own, so your agent subscription or API keys cover the AI use.
A first prompt to try once a clip is selected:
Cut the filler words and long pauses from this clip, add captions, then resize it to 9:16 for Reels. Show me each change on the timeline before you export.3. Takes for Mac: record talking-head videos, let Claude Code edit
Takes is a free, MIT-licensed Mac app built for talking-head videos.
Recording: a teleprompter follows your voice, and one button records your camera and screen together.
Files: every take lands in a plain folder next to its script.
Editing: your AI agent (Claude Code, Codex or pi) cuts the edit, makes the vertical version and drafts the posts.
Notes: you can leave notes on specific frames, and Takes turns repeated notes into rules for future edits.
A note to leave on your first edit:
Remove the restarts and silences, keep my best take of each line, make a 9:16 version with captions, and keep the first 3 seconds tight.4. SupoClip: turn long videos into short clips
SupoClip is an open-source (AGPL-3.0) AI clipper.
Input: paste a YouTube link or upload a file.
Clips: it transcribes the video, picks the strongest 15 to 60 second moments and scores each one.
Output: it crops each clip to 9:16 around the speaker and adds word-synced captions and a hook title.
Ways to run it: host it yourself for free, or use the web app, iPhone app, REST API or MCP server.
To self-host it with Docker:
git clone https://github.com/FujiwaraChoki/supoclip.git
cd supoclip
docker-compose up -d5. Use it inside the full creator workflow
Most creator workflows follow the same seven steps:
Record
Transcribe
Find strong moments
Cut
Add captions
Review
Publish
Each of these tools speeds up some of these steps. None of them replaces step 6. Watch every clip before it goes live.
Good to know
Check access first: Rushilo and Takes need an AI agent on your own plan, and those plans have their own costs and limits.
Check pricing: Rushilo is a one-time $99 licence. Takes is free. SupoClip is free to self-host, and its hosted version has paid tiers.
Check the platform: Takes is Mac-only (Apple silicon, macOS 15 or later). Rushilo runs on Mac and Windows. SupoClip runs in the browser, on iPhone or on your own server.
Check output quality: These are new tools. Test each one on a single real video before you move your whole workflow to it.
Check rights: Only clip videos you own or have permission to reuse.
Rushilo's website: At the time of writing, rushilo.com (the site its Product Hunt listing links to) showed a different sales page from the editor described there. Before you pay, confirm that you are buying the video editor.
