You are 26. You have the degree, maybe two, and a folder full of certificates. The applications go out and the offer letters don’t come back.
If that is you, the most likely problem is that your profile looks like thousands of others. The fix is a skill that few candidates have yet, plus projects that prove you can use it. Agentic AI is one of those skills right now.
Why a degree alone doesn’t stand out
India produces a very large number of engineering graduates every year, and most of them apply for the same entry-level roles with the same degree and similar certificates. To a recruiter scanning hundreds of CVs, those profiles look alike.
What separates one candidate from the rest is proof of something specific: a skill companies are hiring for, and work you can show. That is where agentic AI comes in.
What agentic AI means
Agentic AI means AI systems that plan and complete tasks on their own. A chatbot answers a question. An AI agent can take a goal, such as “research these five companies and draft a report”, break it into steps, use tools like search or a database, check its own work and finish the job.
These are the terms you will see in every agentic AI course, in plain words:
RAG (retrieval-augmented generation). The AI looks up information in your documents before it answers, so its answers are based on real data.
Tool calling. The AI uses external tools, such as a calculator, a search engine, an API or a database.
Memory. The agent remembers earlier steps and conversations, so it doesn’t start from zero each time.
MCP (Model Context Protocol). A standard way to connect AI applications to tools and data, so one agent can plug into many services.
Multi-agent systems. Several agents with different roles work together, for example one researches, one checks the facts and one writes.
The program from the video
The program is the Gen AI & Agentic AI Certification Program from iHub Drishti Foundation, IIT Jodhpur. It is run by the ed-tech company Intellipaat, in collaboration with Microsoft. iHub Drishti Foundation is IIT Jodhpur’s Technology Innovation Hub, a not-for-profit company set up under a Government of India mission.
These details are from the program page as of 29 October 2026:
Fee: ₹50,000 in total (₹2,000 registration plus ₹48,000 course fee). EMI starts at ₹4,416 a month through third-party lenders.
Duration: 5 months on the track for 3rd and 4th year students, or 7 months on the track for 1st and 2nd year students.
Classes: live online, Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 10:30 PM. The next application deadline is 1 November 2026.
Eligibility: the page lists undergraduate students.
Curriculum: it starts from scratch with Python, SQL, statistics and machine learning, then moves to generative AI, agentic AI, RAG, MCP, memory, tools, vector databases, multi-agent systems and deployment.
Frameworks: LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, Microsoft Agent Framework concepts, FastAPI and Docker, among others.
Projects: a RAG knowledge assistant, an MCP-powered assistant, a multi-agent research system and a deployed AI service, plus a capstone project.
Certificate: a Professional Certification in Gen AI & Agentic AI from iHub Drishti Foundation, IIT Jodhpur, in collaboration with Intellipaat. The page also lists a certification from Microsoft.
Placement support: one year of support after the course, once you clear Intellipaat’s Placement Readiness Test. It includes interview preparation, CV and LinkedIn help, and access to Intellipaat’s job portal. Intellipaat says more than 3,100 companies have hired its learners.
Placement support means help with getting interviews. It is not a job guarantee, and the program does not claim to be one.
Check these before you pay
₹50,000 is a lot of money when you don’t have a job yet. Ask the admissions team these questions and get the answers in writing:
Am I eligible? The page lists undergraduate students, and both tracks are described by year of study. If you have already graduated, confirm that you can join.
Which Microsoft certification is it? The page doesn’t name it. Ask for the exact title.
What is the refund policy? The program page doesn’t show one.
What happens if I don’t clear the Placement Readiness Test? Placement support starts only after you pass it.
Who teaches the live classes? The page lists faculty from IIT Indore and IIT Guwahati along with industry experts.
Can I manage the time? Classes run on weekday nights, so plan for about 7.5 hours of live class a week, plus practice.
If you take the EMI option, remember that it is a loan from a separate lender, with its own terms.
Start free before you spend
Before you pay for any course, spend two weeks on a free one. It tells you whether you enjoy building agents, and it makes a paid course easier to follow.
AI Agents for Beginners by Microsoft: 18 short lessons covering tool use, agentic RAG, memory, MCP and multi-agent design. The code samples use Microsoft’s cloud, so you need an Azure account for them.
AI Agents Course by Hugging Face: free, with a free certificate. It needs basic Python and takes about 3 to 4 hours a week.
What gets you hired
A certificate helps your CV pass a first filter. Projects are what you talk about in the interview. Whichever route you choose, build two or three agent projects, put them on GitHub with a clear README, and write a short LinkedIn post about each one: what problem it solves, how it works and what you learned.
Then apply for roles such as AI application developer, AI automation engineer or junior AI engineer, and lead with those projects.
